Photo circa 1910.
Center of photo shows Badger Mill, built in 1884. It produced 8 tons per day of rag newsprint.
Behind it is Reliance Mill, built of stone in 1868 by J.R. Kimberly as a flour mill. In 1877, J.R. sold it to his son, J.A. Kimberly.
Even farther back is the Globe Mill. It had a 72-inch paper machine and produced two tons per day of all-rag newsprint. It was built in 1872.
On far right is Neenah Paper Company. Commercial Street runs between it and the Badger Mill.
Crossing the bridge is Mr. J.A. Kimberly in a bobsled, coming to work. |
